Upon arrival at Mfuwe International Airport, you will be met by your Robin Pope Safaris guide for a scenic one-hour road transfer to Nkwali Camp, set on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking South Luangwa National Park. This intimate camp features six chalets, each with river views and open-air bathrooms.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy lunch overlooking the lagoon or afternoon tea before your first afternoon and night game drive.

Begin your day with breakfast around the campfire. Set off for a morning walk or game drive, entering the park by boat or pontoon. The area boasts excellent game viewing including large elephant herds and the endemic Thornicroft’s Giraffe.

After a midday return for lunch and siesta, enjoy an afternoon game drive extending into the early evening to witness nocturnal wildlife.

After an early breakfast, enjoy a game drive through the park to a river crossing point, where you’ll transfer by boat and take a short game drive to Nsefu Camp. Located in the remote Nsefu Sector, this historic camp offers six rondavels with ensuite bathrooms and panoramic views of the Luangwa River.

Settle in, enjoy lunch, and relax before heading out for an afternoon and evening game drive.

Spend the day exploring the diverse habitats of the Nsefu Sector, either on a walking safari or game drive. Optional all-day excursions with a picnic lunch to the salt pans offer incredible opportunities to see unique wildlife and landscapes.

Continue your safari with another morning and evening game activity. You may also opt for a visit to Kawaza Village, a community tourism initiative offering a glimpse into authentic Zambian village life.

After breakfast, transfer back to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lusaka (1.5 hours), then onward to the Lower Zambezi (30 minutes). On arrival, you’ll be transferred to Chongwe River Camp, located at the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers.

Your spacious tented suite under thatch features an open-air ensuite bathroom and stunning river views. Enjoy lunch and choose from afternoon game drives or a scenic boat safari.

At Chongwe there are various activities to choose from.Not only are there exciting day and night drives and bush

walks, but you can also choose your day’s itinerary from a selection of canoe trips, river safaris on safe, stable

pontoon boats or catch and release angling for the infamous tiger fish (in season).

After breakfast, board your flight to Livingstone via Lusaka. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the elegant Tongabezi Lodge, nestled under a grove of ebony trees on a quiet bend of the Zambezi River.

Your accommodation combines comfort and style, with a range of open-planned cottages and stone houses. Enjoy lunch and settle in for a peaceful afternoon by the river.

There is a wide range of activities on offer at Tongabezi including fishing, canoe trips on the river, game drives in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. For the more adventurous, Livingstone boasts a whole host of adrenaline filled activities including whitewater rafting, bungee jumping and microlighting.
