Itinerary

Day 1Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi

  • Morning: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport.
  • Mid-morning: Meet your tour guide and drive (or fly) to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey by road takes approximately 8-10 hours, so it might be split with stops for lunch and sightseeing.
  • Afternoon/Evening: Check into your lodge near Bwindi, settle in, and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure. You may have a briefing by your guide about the trekking procedures and safety precautions.

Day 2Gorilla Trekking Experience

  • Morning: Wake up early for breakfast. Depending on your assigned gorilla family (which can be decided beforehand or on the day), head to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing.
  • Late Morning to Afternoon: Begin your gorilla trek, which can last from 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family you are tracking. Enjoy an hour observing and photographing the gorillas once you find them.
  • Evening: Return to your lodge. If time permits and you have the energy, you may take a guided village walk to learn about the local community’s culture and way of life.

Day 3Departure

Morning: After breakfast, depart from Bwindi and begin your journey back to Entebbe or another destination. You may have the option to stop at the Equator for a photo opportunity and souvenir shopping.

Afternoon: Continue your journey back to Entebbe, where you can catch your flight home or to your next destination.
